Greetings.

One of the holdbacks/concerns of potential customers to online
eyeglass stores in my opinion, is the issue of how to ensure that a
customer's progressive rx is properly filled for the particular frame
purchased online.

I have no optician training but my understanding is that the
customer's fit in a particular frame will vary frame by frame, as to
where the center of the eye is in the frame, from top to bottom. And
that where the progressive lens should be centerered in the frame will
therefore vary frame to frame, customer to customer.

Right now, some online eyeglass stores do not sell progressive lenses
for this reason. Other ones do, but will not provide a refund on
progressive lenses for this reason.

I am a progressive lens customer and i want to know myself how I can
order eyeglasses online with a progressive lens rx with any assurance
that the eyeglasses will work well for me. It seems to me to be a
crapshoot if no measurement info is given to the online store before
they prepare the lens in the frame and mail it to me.

And unlike a PD #, theres no single measurement that covers all frames
for this issue, it varys frame to frame, based on the size of the
frame and how it happens to fit on the customer's face and also how
the nose pads/bridge is adjusted on the customer.

What would seem to me to be a good idea is to have the frames shipped
ot the customer with just the demo clear lens and then have the
customer mark where his pupils are centered in the frame, and then
mail the frame back to the online store to have lenses installed.

I dont know if any online store will work this way and if anyone has
tried to do this before.

If anyone has any opinions/ thoughts/ suggestions on this topic pls.
reply.
