Hello, I have a Gigaset N300A-IP DECT home phone that can handle one analogue and three SIP calls together. My analogue line contract ends early June, so I have time to test a new safe alternative system suitable for a normally light user before my existing number is lost. I see a wide range of services from telephone number rental (perhaps just a telephone number to dynamic or static IP address database) to apparently comprehensie VOIP (with call duration charges), but what do I really need? There are reports of possible security problems with plain SIP, or caller filtering by some suppliers. At least one provider may be using an asterisk system. Thanks for any information. -- Chris Bell www.chrisbell.org.uk
