Arrhenius actually got a Nobel, but not for climate change.

Revelle and Keeling inspired Gore.

Revelle perhaps died too early (you have to be alive to get the
Nobel), but Keeling lived till 2005 and was racking up the honors in
his last years, so its fair to say that Keeling should have gotten a
Nobel.

I noticed that when Mario Molina, who got the Nobel for the Ozone
Hole,  joined UCSD Faculty, the press release seems almost more
impressed with the fact Molina was like Keeling than that he had a
Nobel.
