They all sound the same thing, even if they are spelled rong. It's one of them "onym" words, of some sort. (An't-onym or sin-onym.) The real bad words are like, wind and wind. See, these are spelled the same, but they sound different. (You can't see the wind blow, but you can wind up a garden hose. Or, if you keep flying coupes into strong cross wind you're going to wind up getting hurt). I think these are called Homo-nym. Words like these started in San Francisco, they can go both ways. The words that will get you into trouble are Sin-onyms. These are kind of double talk words, saying the same thing two different ways. Washington folks use these a lot - "I didn't raise your taxes" or "I increase the Government's revenues". Either way they said you were screwed. These are Sin-onyms, basically lies. (So Sin-onym is a sinonym for lie). The other type is An't-onym. It mean opposite. This word is from the rural areas of the country. They are straight forward on making a point. If it an't black, it's white. If you an't right, then you are wrong. Thus the name "An't"-onym. Now, since I've said something about the folks in San Francisco and Washington there should be plenty of "Jack Bashing" going on in the list for a while. We may have something to talk about.
