I have the Garmen Pilot III, wonderful piece of electronic equipment. Two things which might come into play, my Coupe electrical system is not consistent in its output ( even without the strobe on ) so I have to leave the batteries in the Pilot III even when I am operating off the cigarette lighter power adapter. If I don't the Pilot III will go blank and I have to restart it from scratch, with the batteries in this does not happen, The other downer is that the book provided with the Pilot III is darn near useless, and I have contacted Garmen and there is no additional training literature available. All the training I have found on the web is for very expensive airliner systems. Garmen will not offer anything to help someone learn the Pilot III. I love the unit but learning to use it is trial and error, so I rely heavily on the charts, as I should anyway. One phenominal feature is the compass and ground speed indicator, I have an old gyro and it is not as reliable as it might be. This feature alone is worth the expense in my mind, the lack of educational help available after purchase is frustrating, the unit is great. ==^================================================================ This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?aVxiLm.aVzvvT Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] T O P I C A -- Register now to manage your mail! http://www.topica.com/partner/tag02/register ==^================================================================
