Hi Hrtmut,
I have a 415C, I do my base let at 70mph (not knots) and after turning
final I lower it to 65, when I
know I have the field made I cut it to 60, then just before the threshold
I cut the power to idle and
flare it until gravity overcomes ground effect and it wants to land.
I don't blame you for not wanting to land at 80, I wouldn't either.
