Hello list.

My engine troubles have turned from major to minor to major again.
What I thought was bad compression turned out to be a bad guage on
my compression guage. But then I discovered a couple of poor
exhaust valves. When I pulled the rocker box covers I discovered
some pretty bad wear on the rocket arms.

That did it.

I am now in the process of pulling the wings go i can bring the
coupe home for some tlc and probably including an engine removal
and repair/top of all th cylinders (more perhaps depending on the
condition of the rest of the engine when I start to remove things).

So my question is this...

When do you repair cylinders, and when do you replace them?
Who does reliable repair work? And what is the favoured option
for replacement cylinders?

I should note that I am operating under "owner maintained" Canadian rules
which basically make me a homebuilt. I plan to do all this work under the
watchful eye of my trusted mechanic, however, since engine stuff is not
something to play around with.

So any advice, help, comments would be appreciated.
