HI Pete; The original Coupe seats were two cushions stuffed with
horsehair. They were about flat on top and rounded on the bottom to fit
into the bowl area you have under your seat. They were separated by the
stiffener in the middle of the bowl, and had a flap sewn on top that you
could flip up in order to step on while getting in and out of the Coupe.
The board idea works, but reduces the headroom in the Coupe by 2 or
3 inches depending on how thick the cushion is on top of the board.
