Ken, I hate to admit it, but I place most of my faith in my hearing and my Pilot III regarding airspeed. I don't trust the tach or the airspeed indicator in flight. Sometimes the tach will just start wandering 5 or 6 hundred RPM for no reason, the engine noise does not change. I have checked the Pilot III in my pickup and it is flawless, unfortunately I cannot check my airspeed indicator in the pickup. I did put a new tach cable in this year but that did not fix the oscillations.
