Hi Coupers; I have a problem I hope y'all can help me with. N2906H showed
up
in my hanger this week and it has a bad case of the New Jersey Crud! It
has
been sitting outside for the last year, and seems to be covered with some
sort of grime out of the atmosphere. When you run your hand over the
fabric,
or the fuselage, it feels rough like sandpaper. You can see the dark
specks
on the surface as well. The difference around the cockpit, which had a
cover
on it is amazing. Have any of you found a way to remove this type of crud
other than sanding and repainting? I have tried soap and water, a good
polish, and "final clean" pre paint cleaner. None have seemed to affect
the
rough finish.
I did lightly sand a small area on the leading edge, which has to
be
patched, and the 600 grit paper took all of the crud off. I am afraid what
06H will look like if I try that on the entire Coupe.
Thanks
Lynn Nelsen
