Hartmut, During a previous discussion, someone WEIGHED two sets of wings, one fabric and the other metalized. The DIFFERENCE came out at 38+ lb., to the best of my recollection. But since we remove the remove the dope soaked fabric we have to subtract the weight of the removed material to do a fair comparison. Nobody could tell us so far what the weight of the fabric (painted) actually is. I estimate it at least 10 pounds each side, leaving 20 pounds or even more off the calculation. With that in mind, metal wings do not look too bad I think.
