We really don't, Vern. You should look at Every Part going into your
plane.
That's why I work on mine. Like helping out with the annual just
completed.
But most parts are a crap shoot - even the ones coming from Univair.

But it does make it possible. There are no new parts being made anyway,
so
what we could be dealing with is 1946 hold-overs.

I feel I do, Vern. Guess my wrench does also as he signed it off again
this year.
We all realize that this is the ideal. Your Milage May Vary.
Seriously, guys. This will be a part of the continuing debate on all
aircraft maintenance. See the Bonanza rebuild article in this month's
Sport Aviation.
How much is too much? Do we need airline quality in our puddle jumpers?
So long as we all realize that Airwourthy has two aspects; safe to fly and
conforms to Type Certificate as issued (or amended by 337, STC, etc.), we
can separate out what is being debated - usually the latter.
And, Vern, don't let the guy with the McDondalds gasgets get to you. I
met
him at EAA Arlington last year and I know...
Percy in Portland
