I again write down the tach hours when the wing bobbers (I have a low s/n with no sight or mechanical wing-tank gauges) hit bottom, along with the notation like: 734.42hrs/12gals which tells me that's where I was then. It makes a good stake-in-the ground for any later mental figgering that has to be done.
