I don't know about Google Groups, but YahooGroups seems to have a
similar policy that email addresses should be removed from the BODY of
group posts.  They automatically remove addresses from the body, when
you view a group post by accessing it from the web.  (Messages
delivered by email are not affected.)

Email addresses in the header are unavoidable.  In the body, they can
be edited out.
