I think now I get what you are asking, and more importantly why.  Sorry
about being slow to comprehend that.  (I thought you were questioning the
original poster's intentions.)

Unless the non-Gmail system where you have an account has something similar
to Gmail where you can alter your actual address and it still comes to you,
then I think you can't do what Kenneth or I suggested.

I've heard that Yahoo mail has free disposable addresses, which are vaguely
similar to Gmail's "plus addressing."  If so, that would probably work.

Another solution might be to use an email client program instead of Gmail's
web interface.
