However, a mobile device *can* delete the message on Google's servers, if it is set up to do that. So watch out for that. (That's about all I know about that.) Things can prevent messages from reaching your Gmail account, including an incorrectly addressed message. It might look like it was addressed to you but it could have a typo in the address that prevented its delivery. Also, some email servers might have (inappropirately) 'blacklisted' Gmail, which might prevent messages that pass through them, from reaching you.
