Thank you ever so much Professor Geuzaine. I had been checking the
check box Save All Elements for over a month. Unchecking it solved all
of my problems concerning the transfer of physical surfaces to
OpenFoam patches. I can now finally concentrate on how to create
boundary layers using Gmsh.
Kindest regards,
Marc

Hi to all
I have to use version 2.12.0 in order for gmshToFoam to transform
the physical groups into patches. Because if I use version 4.3.0
and save the mesh in ascii version 2 format including all elements
In the MSH2 format, if you selecting "Save all elements" will
discard physical groups.
Just define physical groups for all the entities whose elements
should be saved and you should be fine.
(MSH4 does not have that limitation.)

, gmshToFoam ignores the physical groups and you end up with a
single huge patch by the name of patch0.
So I wonder if this is a bug. If so, it is really disppointing
since I would much prefer to use the latest gmsh version.
Thanks anyhow
