First of all, when you plug it in, do you get a charging light?
I had an HP laptop that had a loose jack, and I used a rubber band to
keep the connector in and tight. I also investigated repairing it, and
you are going to pay $50 or more just to have someone take a look at
it. Try Computer Hut Of New England on Main St. 603-889-7625

IMHO, get rid of it, and get something else.
