So if you make it a post Holiday meeting and you want to try for a sponsor, let me know. I would assist in finding a sponsor. It is my strength you know ;)

Thanks for picking up on this Rob. BTW: I'll be overseas all
Thanksgiving week.

As far as I know, the only scheduling operands are maddog's schedule,
and a meeting location (where we can get food catered).

I don't think we'll be able to get a sponsor for the dinner on this
short of a notice, so we should plan for between $10 and $15/head for
the dinner. (Although, we might want to "poll the membership" for how
many people plan on coming if we charge for the dinner.)
I think that a poll is in order. Bruce, would you please post
the question?

My concern is that a lot of our membership are unemployed. These
are the folks who come to dinner before a meeting and have a coke.
I'm concerned that we'll alienate if it's very much. $12 is cheap,
$23 isn't.

Should we consider a place that'll give us a big reservation, but
without the fixed price menu?

rob

With maddog's involvement in the ELF event in Boston on the 3rd and 4th,
are we sure he'll be able to show up at Martha's?
He has indicated that he'd be available on the 4th.

Has Martha's been booked yet? (Paul, Rob?)
No, I got word back this evening that it's booked on the 4th
(they weren't sure), but that Tuesday the 3rd is available.
We're 'penciled' in. I promised to get back to them tomorrow
(Friday).

I'll be calling maddog tomorrow morning to see if he's
available on the 3rd. He'll be in Boston, but was planning
on getting a hotel room down there, so he may have evening
committments.

If he's not available, I'll get add'l dates from him, and
see if Martha's is available on any of those dates. I
think that we should aim to wrap this up over the weekend
so that we can make some sort of announcement on Monday.

I'm assuming that maddog's schedule's the driving factor here,
since he's the "keynote" speaker. Do we have any specific
black-out dates for other reasons?

regards,
r
