This occurred to me as well. However, it would be rather unfair of me to recommend a meeting be held solely for my own benefit. Not only would it be unfair to the speaker, it would be unfair to those who would be unable to show, and thus miss the opportunity to heckle me. ;-) Seriously: For those of us who, like myself, have reoccuring events on Wednesday evenings, sufficient advance notice (say, a month or more) is generally adequate to make special exceptions for special events (like a post-Christmas Christmas party). This makes the current state of uncertainty all the more difficult for people who need to make advance plans.
