I'm not expressing a yeah or nay opinion, but it does raise the
question of in for a penny, in for a pound and where do you draw the
line?  If it a good idea for Ruby, then why not Python as well and if
Python why not...

Personally I could be easily persuaded that it is likely a good idea for
GNHLUG to be about more than Linux per se and to provide at least some
modicum of activity and support for some FOSS projects.  It is a
slippery slope though.
