Hi,
I've had a cdwriter for a while but I hadn't bothered to get it set up for
linux because I hadn't had much luck getting recompiled kernels to work. But I
decided to try once more and this time the only configuration change I made was
to turn SCSI emu on and turn IDE/ATAPI CDROM support off then I did make dep;
make clean; make bzImage. I didn't bother to recompile the kernel modules I
use (maybe thats why I have the following problem?) but the howto I was
following didn't say I had to. I set up lilo and reboot using the new kernel
image but when i try to cd to my mounted cdrom or do anything else with them I
get this error:
ide-scsi: hdc: unsupported command in request queue (0)
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=16:00, iso_blknum=16, block=32
ide-scsi: hdc: unsupported command in request queue (0)
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev=16:00, iso_blknum=16, block=32
bash: cd: /mnt/cdrom: Input/output error
Any idea what the problem might be? Should I recompile the modules too?
Thanks for any help the group can give me.
-Adam-
