I'll be at the show Tuesday-Thursday
absorbing all the info I can find. In particular I
am looking for some answers re a new computer
I'm going to buy. My initial choice was a Linux machine
from a mass market computer company
that allegedly supports Linux.
OK, I can put up with RH 6.0 instead of 6.1
and do the upgrade later if I need to. But this company
according to its phone rep and faxes cannot
manufacture for me a machine with RH and an
internal modem integrated already! The rep was
nice and friendly, and e-mailed pointers to where
to get the modem card from another arm of that
large company's marketing octopus --- but I wanted
an out of the box system that met my functional
requirements without having to open the case!
Not nice... that vendor may have disqualified
itself....
I believe I'll spend a few minutes at that company's
Linux Expo booth, then check out other
integrated "Out of the Box" Linices...
