It's extremely frustrating to try to buy a system that will meet
your requirements without having to open the case or mess
around with low-level stuff, even if you don't insist on Linux
preloaded. I recently bought an IBM Aptiva (through their
employee/stockholder purchase plan, thanks to my wife's
job situation), and after six weeks my only regret is not having
taken advantage of the fourteen day money back guarantee
when the first problem arose. If I knew then what I know now
I'd have not wasted much too much time while their support
folks proved their incompetence...
Carl, I don't know what big company you were considering,
but if it's color is blue I'd advise you to think twice.
