One thing to keep in mind about big companies: They started out as a small
company, and they fed off of the red tape. Red tape is very fattening. That
is how they got so big. I'm now working for yet another large company, and
since I am in "data security" or whatever we're called this week, I'm not
very popular. Quite often, I'm told to keep my findings to myself because
the secure thing to do would inconvience some VP somewhere. Security is
paid lip service, efficiency is out the window, and to get anything done
takes six months, 14 different department, and somwhere around 25
approvals. Granted, the job security and the benefits are nice, but I would
rather not be so frustrated at the end of the day!
