I agree that the default installs are good and getting better but that misses the
point.  It is still a very narrow road.  If something goes wrong it is far more
difficult, in Linux, to diagnose and correct it.  Installing a printer was a good
example or perhaps a new card or option and yes that does happen.

The point that users rarely install their systems is also very good however we
still have to return to additional options or even installing programs (or
uninstalling them).  Which would you be more comfortable leaving your mother with,
particularly if you can't always provide support, Windows or Linux?

Finally, the registry.  Arghhh, don't even go there.  Perhaps you could rearrange
the text files or have a better system for cataloging them but if Linux goes to a
registry, I quit! ;-)
