Well, Like Ben said, the core docs are as good as they get. Perl has the most
complete and extensive documentation of any language I've ever heard of. The
docs that come with perl are excellent. When I was first learning perl, I
printed out a copy of the perlref ps file and kept it in a 3 ring binder next
to my system at all times. This proved an excellent way to learn what was
available.
Also, Learning Perl from O'Reilly is probably the best intro to the language
you'll find anywhere, and was written by Randall Schwartz, one of the perl
developers. I also recommend frequenting the comp.lang.perl.misc newsgroup.
This is both an excellent place to learn from, and to post questions to
(though the S/N is rather high at times).
