I can't speak to that... but it reminds me of a question I have: Does
anyone know if the Linux kernel has a switch to prohibit execution of
code on the stack (a common exploit)? I know in Solaris 2.6 and later
you can put a line like:
set noexec_user_stack = 1
in /etc/system to prohibit execution of code on the stack. If Linux has
something like this I'd like to switch it on to see if it has any effect
on normal apps...
