Does anyone have any tips for linux on a sparc5?
OK, here's some background:
It has 96M of RAM and 3 external drives. The internal drive is only a
510M so I'm pretty much the whole install on the externals. I got through
the install ok and it booted up but it the machine locks up with scsi bus
resets, they just keep scrolling by non-stop and you could hear the
drives clicking. I thought it might just be the
hardware so I reloaded Solaris on it and it worked fine. I decided to try
loading linux again - and the same thing. Seeing as how this is my first
time loading linux on a sparc I was wondering if I was missing something
(such as any paramaters I should be passing to the kernel at boot) or
whether I'm just SOL with this particular box.
