I'm certainly not going to flame you, but I am going to have to beg to
differ. Nothing is better than pine. It is the most flexible and feature
rich mailer I've come across on any platform.

Create user accounts for all of your family members; Use fetchmail to suck
thier mail down; if necessary, use procmail to redirect it to the
appropriate user; use IMAP to serve it up.
