  Okay then. Just checking. :)

  Reinstall Windows.

(No, I don't think that is related to the problem, but it usually needs to
be done anyway. ;-)

Hmmm, that's not so good. In all the cases I've seen, killing off all the
imap servers cleared up the (immediate) locking problems. You may be seeing
something different then what we've had.

Have you checked the permissions on the users' mail directories and files?

Have you tried logging in directly, as the user, and trying local access, to
see what happens? Maybe running an IMAP client locally (Pine works well) to
eliminate network issues?

You might want to try telnetting... telneting... um, doing a telnet to port
110 and conversing with the IMAP server "by hand" to see what it thinks is
going on.

*sigh* Red Hat will happily ship an incredibly buggy, pre-production DHCP
client, but their IMAP server is two years old. Sheesh. To adapt a phrase
you (or maybe Derek) used not so long ago, Red Hat is absolutely the worst
distribution out there -- except for all the others. ;)

FWIW, RHL 6.2 includes UW IMAP 4.7, dated 27-OCT-1999. Still old, but at
least within a year.
