Odd, since the "someone" is me, and I've received no notifications
regarding the updates to the bug report after the second comment.

Mine too, owing to this failure of their support process... for lack of a
better term. Double for having this problem in the first place. Time to
look at Mandrake. And Debian potato maybe, if they ever release a stable
version...
