If you got stuff laying around like hard drives and cables, and all you need 
are a couple of pass-through terminators, why does it not make sense?  In most 
places I've been, there's been an abundance of old equipment laying around, 
including external drive bays, scsi drives, and cables.  I would not hesitate 
to use this in a firewall scenario if it added robustness to the situation, 
even at the expense of $100 for terminators.
