I don't think so but IIRC, the first time I set up xinetd it came with a
script to convert over the old inetd.conf to its format.

*heh*  I wouldn't go running out for RH 7 just yet, but I do have to
admit to having installed xinetd over inetd in several of my own
machines.  8)
