OK, do you want cons only or pros and cons?
One con is that Linux does not run as efficiently on large machines
(E10K, Q Wildfire) as the native Unix (note, most people won't care,
as they don't run those machines).
Pro:
Security: You can independently examine the code, determine and FIX
problems, remove code you don't need to run, etc.
Problem fixing: You can get it fixed NOW. You're back up &
operational in the minimal amount of time, losing the least amount of
money / time / whatever is valuable because of downtime.
Support: Related to above, if you don't like your support vendor, you
can change them at a whim.
Support: You're not forced to upgrade to fix a problem. (Ex: 2.0.39
is coming out soon, although 2.4 is the next revision).
hope these help

Thought for today: stoppage /sto'p*j/ n.
Extreme lossage that renders
something (usually something vital) completely unusable. "The
recent system stoppage was caused by a fried
transformer."
