Of course, if they can't examine the code, they can hire someone
(independent of the vendor) who can.

Or, hire someone (whom you choose) to fix the problem, & fire them if
they don't (I understand there's a few companies who do this, I might
have heard the name of one, I believe it's called Mission Critical
Linux ;-)
