I have a RedHat 6.2 firewall (ipchains runlevel 3) set up at home with
two machines (runlevel 5 full installs) networked to it, a dual boot
linux 6.2/windows 95 and a RedHat 6.2.
They are all on the web and functioning fine.
I want to use fetchmail to get my mail from pop.ne.mediaone.net.
fetchmail -u username pop.ne.mediaone.net
is asks for my passwd and I supply it then it returns error 2.
it tells me something like username valid but ip address not existent
(Im not at home right now)
When I do a nslookup on the pop.ne.mediaone.net I get 24.147.1.149 my
mail server address resolves fine.
Can any one see the obvious error here?
I am looking to pick up my mail and drop it to the appropriate machines
inside the house.
I am looking for another mediaone person to reveal their command line.
I plan to run fetchmail as an hourly cron using the fetchmailrc file
after I work out the semantics of the options needed
ps. I have read the man pages
Thank you
Rob from No.Weare
