Well I'm sorry, but I HAVE seen spam very similar to this, though
admittedly not quite with this same approach.  Consider:

  * AOL is known to be the spam king
  * you e-mail client/mail server filled in the Apparently-From header,
    which is often a sign that the sender is doing something shady
    (though certainly not necessarily)
  * you've never posted here before this
  * you're asking for info that is of the very type that direct marketers
    want

This all adds up to spam to me.  Glad to hear I was wrong.  As for not
replying directly to you, it's only natural that I wouldn't, having
already assumed that you were a spammer.  If you WERE a spammer,
that's the surest way to get an Inbox full of garbage.
