Have a look at:

The first link suggests the 3.0.9 version of the pcmcia card services
supports the card. And indeed I see:

haystack[118] pwd
/usr/src/pcmcia-cs-3.1.3

haystack[119] grep -i sony SUPPORTED.CARDS 
        Sony CD-ROM Discman PRD-250
        Sony PCGA-CD5 CD-ROM
 
Hopefully the latter is yours. The driver is evidently "ide_cs".
