First of all, check to see what protocol they're running on the lines. If
they're running DOCSIS or MCNS, then in theory, since these are
"Open Standards", the performance should be all the same.

If they are *NOT* running these protocols, your best bet is the LANCity Cable
Modem. MediaOne has a long history with this equipment, and it is by far, the
best on the market wrt the non-standard protocol service.

DOCSIS/MCNS is relatively new, I think it's up to v2.0, maybe a little higher.
It's very popular within the cable industry, since it allows them more choice
of manufacturers for the equipment they buy. However, it's been slow in
deployment. Of course, I've been out of the cable modem industry for over 9
months now, so all this may have changed :)

Check what protocols they're using first though.
