Yes, which is most likely why they chose a *BSD product.

This isnt entirely true. Anyone can open a Linux business, selling distro's
or whatever, and they dont have to give a cent back to the community.

Its a two way street. You have that company that will just take and take and
give nothing back (*cough*strings ftp.exe|grep Berkerly*cough*), but I know
that some companies, especially ones that specialize in embedded devices
donate money and/or code back to the projects they use, because there are
those few companies that realize without the OS they are using, they most
likely wouldnt have a business. Look at how much Red Hat has given back to
the community. It all depends on the business I guess.
