I've noticed that dual-Athlon motherboards have hit the market (well,
okay, at least one of 'em, from Tyan), and was wondering if anyone has had
any experience with them under Linux? Couple questions:
- Does Linux fully support it? I saw reports that 2.4.6-ac-something did,
but don't know if it's made it mainstream yet.
- Do the MP motherboards require the Athlon-MP series, or is that just
add'l MP optimization (read: a way to make more $$$)?
- And, lastly, has anyone actually used one? I'm always afraid of ".0"
products, 'cause they just haven't had a chance to fix the bugs yet.
But (for reasons too involved to go into), I'm currently looking for
a new MB, and a dual-Athlon would just rock... but not if it reboots
every time your VCR gets turned on, or somesuch.
Thanks,
-Ken
