  No, it isn't.  Filesystems are pretty low-level things; I would be very
surprised if all Linux needed was to unpack the source and type "make".
The filesystem design can be fine, but if the Linux implementation of it has
a subtle bug in it somewhere, it might well trash everything.  That code is
as new as the code for ReiserFS or ext3.  I'm not saying it is canned shit,
just that it doesn't have the track record behind it that XFS for IRIX does.

  Of course.  Really, it's all about trust and support, regardless of who
makes it or how long it's been around.
