Ah, I'm sorry. I have forgotten how little I explained on the list the first time and was thinking more of what I explained in private.
Union Telephone, with approximately 60 users is looking at possibly converting entirely to Linux. Servers and desktops. If it goes well, BayRing (child company) may follow suit down the road. I work 1 day per week at Union and 4 at BayRing. There is no sales dept at Union which makes things easier. We need AS/400 connectivity which looks like we are able to tweak out with tn5250. We have several Access databases that we will convert to PostgreSQL. A Samba file server will replace the NT server. The biggest concern of the descision makers is making the switch on the desktops. We have customer service, billing, and techs. Remote access is important too. What the execs want are concrete examples of what is and isnt working with other companies. I hope that clears a bit up. At first I wasn't sure how much I was able to share, and then I forgot just how vague I was. I have gotten many more responses this time, thank you everyone! -Mjo On Thursday 14 March 2002 03:52 pm, Paul Lussier wrote: > In a message dated: Thu, 14 Mar 2002 12:56:26 EST > > Martha Jo McCarthy said: > >Hey there! > > > >My last request was a little vauge and narrow and I received > >some good material but I need more.
