Thanks, I thought so too.  =8^)

BTW, if anyone would like a copy of my scripts, I'd be happy to
provide them.

I copied:

/etc/init.d/network                    to  network.nodhcp
/etc/init.d/network-scripts/ifup       to  ifup.nodchp
/etc/init.d/network-scripts/ifup-post  to  ifup-post.nodchp

Then made modifications as appropriate.  Then, I created a new version
of ifcfg-eth0 with a static config for that card, and called it
nodchp-eth0 (just replace ifcfg with nodhcp to get the name of the
config script for the given interface).

Note that, if you have other interfaces that did not use DHCP, you
still need to copy them to nodhcp-<ifname> or they won't initialize
with this scheme.

If anyone would like my scripts or more details, just let me know.
