Better answer to which question ?

Are you recommending Python as a language in which to write OO software or a
language to know with which to get a job ? I don't doubt that Python is a
good language in which to write OO software, but I have not seen a huge
demand for Python programmers in the market place. I think that this is the
point of my posts that you are missing. What's good software engineering
practice is not the same as what's going to pay my bills.

You might remember that a couple of years ago COBOL programmers made a huge
comeback. It wasn't that anybody thought COBOL was a great language, but the
Y2K thing made those people VERY employable.

I guess the question I'm asking is not "If I want to write OO software,
should I choose Java or C++ ?" but rather "If I want a job writing OO
software should I choose to learn Java or C++?".
