cool.... although most of them look the same as the old ones, but nice to
see the quality is better than before....
where does it say that gnome 3 will have these updated icons?? is it
definate? or are these icons just a contribution with no definate word
on implementing it?

Of course, icons are user replaceable. If you don't like the default
theme you can always use a different one.
