"Non-free" is not part of the distribution. Yes it is, it is not part of the `main' section, but it is still part of Debian and stored in another section called `non-free', since Debian supports it, and distributes it on their FTP site. Anyone trying to claim that Debian only includes free software is deluding themselfs.
Any document containing an "invariant" section is non-free. No, it isn't. It might be classified as non-free software, but then documents aren't software to begin with, so saying "it is non-free" is silly, saying that it is `non-free software' is obviously true since they aren't software to begin with. I feel like I'm repeating myself. > ...it is non-free software, but then so is a car (since it isn't > software to begin with). Cars are not subject to copyright. That wasn't what the comparison was about. You said something to the extent that GFDL manuals with invariant sections are non-free software. But then, so is a car, simply because it isn't software. There is no reference to copyright there. _______________________________________________ Gnu-misc-discuss mailing list Gnu-misc-discuss@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnu-misc-discuss
