That wasn't what the comparison was about.  You said something to
   the extent that GFDL manuals with invariant sections are non-free
   software.  But then, so is a car, simply because it isn't software.

Let me do the comparison in another way, you have a motorbike
(document), and a car (software).  Then you claim that the motorbike
isn't as fast (free) as the car, and then claim that the motorbike
(document) is a slow (non-free) car (software).  Since a motorbike
(document) isn't a car (software) to begin with, claiming that it is a
fast (free) or slow (non-free) car (software) is kinda pointless. :-)
