Also, the Grandstaff brace is sometimes used in orchestral scores 
to mark the parts that belong to a certain instrument group, so 
any number of staves should be available.

How about
\header{
  \title = "\\humanistlight My title"
...
}

where \humanistlight is a LaTeX command that changes to the desired font.
Look at the example in mutopia/N.W.Gade on how you can include a 
latex file with macro definitions using the header field latexheaders.
